Job Description: A team of researchers in the Apparel Events and Hospitality Management (AESHM) department are looking for engineering undergraduate students (preferably 3rd or 4th year) to work in the Laboratories for Functional Textiles and Protective Clothing. The technician will work closely with the lab manager and postdoc research fellow to build models and run simulations related to heat and mass transfer in the human-clothing-environment system. This position also involves handling, programing, and manipulating 3D models in 3D modeling and programing software. Work will be done in 1078/2094 LeBaron Hall and remotely via University VPN. Duties and Responsibilities

-Basic knowledge of CAD software, preferred ANSYS Workbench or equivalent

-Achieve digital 3D CAD models from 3D scanned physical objects for simulations

-Existing knowledge of basic workflow of CFD simulations with ANSYS Fluent


Job Skills & Requirements:

-Should have attended courses in Heat and mass transfer, Thermodynamics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics or similar fields

-The ability to learn and follow specific scientific techniques -Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Outstanding attention to detail

-Ability to work independently

-Strong time management skill

-Interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

-Proficiency in 3D modelling software (e.g., Geomagic and Solidworks)

-Familiar with ANSYS Fluent and ICEM CFD
